Ruthless records a lap-down. You put an opponent a full lap behind and the racing family ticks it. The global figure is 53.9 percent, just behind the penalty icon and just ahead of the first holeshot, which tells you a long enough heat makes this ordinary. It is not a championship trophy and it is not a holeshot. One dominated moto is the whole requirement.

Distance is the lever. A short Quick Race on Xbox, or a short PC heat, can end before the leader ever sees a backmarker. Choose the longer distance when this icon is the goal, and choose a field that includes slower AI. Amateur is the bottom of the four AI levels and the honest place to learn what a lap-down feels like. Expert can still be lapped if you are quick, but that is a different project from Trust Me, I'm an Expert, which only asks you to win on that difficulty.

The icons that sit next to this one are the holeshot, the best lap and the first GP win. You can lap someone and still lose the holeshot, and you can win the moto without ever putting a rider a lap down if the field stays bunched. Around the World, a win on every circuit, is a much longer racing job. Ruthless can fall out of a single long race on Bariloche or Pietramurata while you are still missing wins on the unnamed circuits.

Online changes the arithmetic. Ten riders is the ceiling, and a public Elo lobby will not gift you a lap if the rating is honest. A private room with friends who are still learning the clutch is a kinder place to see the flag. Do not confuse a respawn, which puts you back on the track after a crash, with a lap penalty. Clean Rider cares about respawns. Ruthless cares about the gap to the rider behind you.
