MXGP 26 - The Official Game

1 October 2026 release

PC and patches

The Windows build of MXGP 26 asks for 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, DirectX 12, 26 GB of disk and an SSD at both the minimum and the recommended tier. The CPU, RAM and GPU are what change. PC Update 1 shipped on 1 October 2026, the same day as the game, from Nacon Racing and Artefacts Studio. Steam downloads it on its own. The checklist below is that note, one line per fix, stored only in this browser.

Japanese, Korean and Simplified Chinese text fixes are part of the patch. So are remappable keys, online physics, AI on every track in both classes, and a holeshot trigger at Johannesburg. Speed Regulation Assist is deactivated because it could block acceleration. Do not turn it back on to chase a setting you saw in a pre-patch screenshot.

Reading the two spec boxes

Both tiers are DirectX 12 and both want 26 GB. Neither one lists a hard-drive-only option as equal to an SSD. The minimum CPU is a Ryzen 5 3600 at 3.6 GHz with 12 GB of RAM and a GTX 1080 that has 8 GB of video memory. The recommended CPU is a Ryzen 7 5800X with 8 cores, the RAM step is 16 GB, and the GPU step is an RTX 3070 with 8 GB or an RX 6700 with 10 GB. If you are between those boxes, the SSD and the 26 GB are still the disk story. A laptop 1080-class chip that shares the name and not the memory is below the written minimum even if the brand matches.

Keyboard and gamepad both work. A gamepad is the recommended control. Keyboard-only is an option, and controller support is partial, which is why full key remapping in the patch matters: you can put the stand-and-sit toggle and the look-back where your hands already are. The remap is PC. It does not rewrite the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series button glyphs. Online races still cap at ten riders, with public Elo lobbies and private lobbies on PC. The physics improvement for clients is specifically about those online races, separate from the general physics polish that applies everywhere.

What Update 1 changed in a race

AI improvements cover every track and both classes, and then two circuits get named on top. Arnhem riders were leaving the circuit. Foxhills riders mishandled slopes. Those are the only two AI place-names in the note. Johannesburg is a holeshot bug, not an AI bug: the trigger did not fire, so What a Start! could be denied on a start you actually won. After the patch, ride Johannesburg again if that icon is still empty and you know you led the first corner there. Track screenshots were refreshed in the same note, so a menu image from a pre-release build is stale on purpose.

The first-person camera is smoother, and the field of view still scales the remaining jitter. If the helmet view wobbles, narrow the FOV before you look for a second camera patch. Other riders in an online session are smoother to look at, joins are fixed, and a set of online crashes are fixed. A separate crash on opening Player Progression is also fixed. If the progression screen still closes the game, you are not on Update 1. Steam installs the note automatically. The authors on the post are the Nacon Racing team and Artefacts Studio.

Localisation fixes cover Japanese, Korean and Simplified Chinese. The supported language list for the game is wider than those three: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish - Spain, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese - Brazil, Russian and Simplified Chinese. The patch does not claim to have rewritten every language. It claims those three had issues and those issues were fixed. UI, gameplay and smaller bugs close the note as a bundle rather than as sixteen more named items. The checklist is the sixteen lines above, including that bundle as one line, because that is how the note is written.

A PC session after the download

Confirm the patch, open controls, and remap before you chase a Gold badge. Then turn Speed Regulation Assist off if any leftover setting still shows it, and leave it off. Pick Loket or Riola Sardo depending on whether you want hard pack or sand, run Time Attack until Practice Makes Perfect lands, and only then add an MX2 bike for 2 Fast for You!. Online comes after the join fix, not before. A private lobby of ten is the PC ceiling. Elo lobbies use the same ceiling. There is no cross-play with PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series, so a friend on a console is not a missing patch.

The minimum box will start the game. The recommended box is the one that matches a 20-rider MXGP offline grid plus the rut deformation the engine is now doing every lap. If the frame time falls apart only when the field is full and the ruts are deep, you are seeing the difference between 12 GB and 16 GB, or between a 1080 and a 3070-class card, not a missing graphics toggle. Photo mode and replay are in the build on PC as well. They are not a patch feature. The patch made the screenshots in the menus current and the helmet cam calmer. Use the riding page for soil and the editions page if the next question is which PC package you bought.
