MXGP 26 - The Official Game

1 October 2026 release

Bikes and gear

Sixteen bikes is the number in the launch note. A model-by-model list of all sixteen is not. What is public is the manufacturer set in the bike editor, the licensed gear brands, and three riders named in July without a class pinned to each of them. The editor is where Pro Bike Mechanic and New Gear actually happen: a setup you then win on, and a workshop item you unlock.

Kawasaki, Yamaha, Honda, KTM and Husqvarna are the championship manufacturers named on 24 September 2026. Fox Racing, Alpinestars, Scott and Airoh are the gear brands in that same note. Jeffrey Herlings, Lucas Coenen and Tim Gajser are the riders from 21 July, described across MXGP and MX2 rather than split onto one bike each.

NameRoleNote
KawasakiManufacturerIn the bike editor with the other championship factories from the 24 September note.
YamahaManufacturerListed beside Kawasaki as a factory you can build a bike around, not as a single model code.
HondaManufacturerOne of the five factories in the editor. The launch count is still 16 bikes across all of them.
KTMManufacturerNamed with Husqvarna in the same championship-manufacturer sentence of the September note.
HusqvarnaManufacturerThe fifth factory in that editor list. No separate bike count is given for this brand alone.
Fox RacingGearLicensed rider gear, and also the name on the holeshot and on the five-livery Fox pack.
AlpinestarsGearLicensed gear brand in the 24 September note, alongside Fox Racing, Scott and Airoh.
ScottGearLicensed gear in the same September list. Goggles and helmets are not itemised further.
AirohGearThe fourth licensed gear brand. New Gear, the workshop icon, is how the first item unlocks.
Jeffrey HerlingsRiderNamed on 21 July as an MXGP or MX2 star. The post does not assign him a class.
Lucas CoenenRiderNamed the same day as Herlings and Gajser, again without a class split.
Tim GajserRiderThe third rider in the July announcement. Jeffrey, Is That You? is a win-count icon, not a rider unlock.

Factories and the sixteen-bike count

Editor date
The bike editor is the 24 September note. July introduced riders and four tracks. September introduced the factories and the gear.
Five factories
Kawasaki, Yamaha, Honda, KTM and Husqvarna are the manufacturers you pick when you build the motorcycle.
Sixteen bikes
A fleet size for the official bikes on the 2026 MXGP and MX2 calendar. The posts do not split that sixteen into a count per factory.
Pro Bike Mechanic
A win on a bike you tuned in Bike Setup. The icon does not care which of the five factories you started from.
Setup click
The bike that takes the flag has to be the one you opened in the setup menu. A stock bike does not qualify, even in a Fox Racing livery.
New Gear
The first equipment item unlocked in the Workshop. That is gear, not a motorcycle.
Licensed set
Fox Racing, Alpinestars, Scott and Airoh are the brands that item is likely wearing. The achievement text only says an equipment item.
Liveries
The Fox Holeshot Pack is five complete Fox Racing liveries. Scrubdesignz Liveries is six SCRUB Designz designs.
What a livery does
It changes the picture, which is where Aesthete lives. It does not tune the bike, so it does not grant Pro Bike Mechanic.

Riders, classes and what this year left out

Three names
Jeffrey Herlings, Lucas Coenen and Tim Gajser, from 21 July.
No class split
The sentence that introduces them says MXGP or MX2 stars and does not put each rider in one class.
Grid counts
The MX2 offline grid of 16 matches the official 2026 support-class entry as a count, not a list of sixteen surnames. The MXGP offline grid of 20 is the same kind of number.
This year
More riders on the gate were outside the year. The stated focus was performance, which is why the physics were rewritten under Unreal Engine 5 and why the day-one patch spent time on AI and online clients.
Jeffrey icon
Jeffrey, Is That You? asks you to win 114 GPs. The name is a nod. The requirement is a championship-family counter. It does not unlock Herlings and it does not require a particular factory.
Tony icon
Tony, Is That You? is six successive official MXGP championships with a full entry list on Hard or above. Tony is not one of the three riders named in July.
Career
A full career, the place a story about either rider would normally sit, is the next iteration. Championship is the lighter season mode.
Handguards
Removable handguards are not possible in this build. If a setup screen looks like it should hide the plastic, it will not.
Rider weight
Manual stand and sit is off by default. Turn it on before you test whether the Husqvarna feels different when you stand. With it on, the weight shift is part of the bike Pro Bike Mechanic wants you to have tuned.

Setup, assists and a sensible order

First step
Open Bike Setup before the workshop icons. Change one thing you can feel, such as suspension that stops the bike knifing on Loket hard pack, or a gearing change you can repeat in Time Attack.
Any win
Win any race on that bike. Pro Bike Mechanic does not ask for Expert difficulty.
Expert
Trust Me, I'm an Expert does. Do the setup win on Amateur first so you know the bike is legal for the icon, then raise the AI.
Two switches
Assist profiles run from Amateur to Expert. They are not the same switch as the four AI levels, even though the words match.
Hotshot
A full race with no assist at all. Stricter than Expert.
Sand
A bike that feels fine with the stability net feels longer in the sand at Riola Sardo once the net is gone.
Compound
The place to feel that change without a 20-rider gate.
Drills
Fifty metres of wheelie for Unicycle, and a one-metre-or-lower scrub for James, Is That You?, start on the tuned bike in free roam. They need the input, not a factory, a livery or a named rider.
Workshop
The first item is New Gear. Later items are not a public shopping list, so the page stops at the brands and the first unlock.
Where else
Fox Racing also appears on the holeshot award and on the edition pack. Prices for the Fox pack and the Scrubdesignz set are on the editions page. The wet feel of the soil is on the riding page.
MXGP 26 bike and rider in factory gear
Factory gear on the rider. Fox Racing, Alpinestars, Scott and Airoh are the licensed brands.
MXGP 26 store capsule with the bike and rider
The store capsule. Sixteen bikes is a count. Five factories are named.
