What a Lap! is the first Acerbis Best Lap, the fastest lap of a race. Global progress is 41.9 percent. That is lower than the holeshot, which fits: more players have led the first corner than have produced the quickest lap of the whole heat. The icon lives in the racing family. It does not care whether the lap came in a one-off moto or inside a GP weekend.
A best lap is a clean lap, not a lucky one. Cutting the corner that feeds Cheat! usually costs more time than it saves once the penalty is applied, and a penalty lap is a poor candidate for the Acerbis award. Ruts deepen every lap, so the fast lap is often not lap one. On hard-pack at Loket the rut becomes a rail. On sand at Riola Sardo the same rut becomes a trench you have to hop. Learn which one you are on before you chase a purple sector.
Time Attack is a different session. Gold badges live there, and Practice Makes Perfect is the first of those badges. A best lap inside a race with other riders is this icon. A solo hot lap is the other one. Xbox calls the hot lap Time Trial. The Acerbis award still belongs to races, not to that solo menu. If you only ever hot-lap, this icon stays dark.
By a Whisker and the first GP win sit beside it because a winning margin of a second and a first GP victory often include the fastest lap, but they do not require it. You can win a messy race on consistency and let someone else take Acerbis. Full House later demands the best lap in every GP of a championship. One Acerbis award is the step in front of that grind, and 41.9 percent shows how many people have taken the step.
