Weekender is a full GP weekend, finished, in the championship family. Global progress is 24.5 percent. That drop from the one-off racing icons is the weekend itself: more sessions than a single heat, and enough time that a lot of players simply quit before the checker on the last moto. The icon does not ask you to win the weekend. Finishing it is the test.
On PC the Grand Prix is the weekend-shaped mode named at launch. Championship is the longer season that contains those weekends, and it is lighter than a full career. A career with staff and transfers is the next iteration, so do not hunt a manager menu for this icon. Xbox keeps Championship for the red plate and does not use the Grand Prix label. The weekend you need is still the one the season is built from, not a Quick Race.
Welcome Aboard, Rookie! is the first championship you merely finish, and First Crown! is the first one you win. Weekender can happen inside either of those seasons, or inside a single weekend if the menu lets you run one GP and stop. Full House is the cruel version of the same weekend: win, holeshot and best lap in every GP. Jeffrey's 114 GP wins and Tony's six championships sit even further out. Weekender is the door into that family, and a quarter of players have walked through it.
Both classes share the calendar. An MXGP weekend can grid 20 offline. An MX2 weekend stops at 16. If your weekend includes both, you will see both sizes. Online still caps a lobby at 10, so a weekend you try to run in a public room is a different shape from the offline GP. For this icon, the offline weekend is the straightforward path. Save the Elo lobby for after the program is complete.
